Just some candy for those that might stumble on this blog.  My new blog can be found at http://ericrose.com but frankly I haven't been very busy there either.  Life gets in the way lol.

My sweetie and I did a wonderful hike September 7th, 2018 up the Plain of the Six Glaciers lookout.  This hike starts of from the world famous Lake Louise chateau.

Here are some pics.  Copyright Eric G. Rose for all images.  Don't try scamming them as they have embedded tracking codes.  Hope you enjoy them.

This is a crappy downsizing-jpg'ing of a shot of Mr. Happy, my sweetie Erna and myself under the redwoods.

New directions...

Well the blogging of the trip to Oregon and California didn't work out as I could never get an internet connection in the places we stayed at. Drove Mr. Happy my 1970 VW Combi hippy van all the way there and more importantly all the way back. He's a gas, but you sure have to "drive" him. None of this thumb on the well sipping a latte stuff with Mr. Happy. Heaven forbid you get a sudden cross wind gust!

Since returning I have found that my semi-retirement gig at Home Depot just isn't cutting it for me. I'm just to much of an old codger to have people half my age telling me what to do and how to do it. Having your own business for half your working life tends to give you a perspective that is not necessarily shared by corporate types.

So I have gone down to half time and will be starting a web design business. My target market will be small to medium sized businesses. Especially new keen startups. I love dealing with people who are totally committed to being successful and are able to call the shots. To get my feet wet and get back into the web swing of things I have redesigned our church website from the ground up. It was a horrid thing that had not been updated since the flood I think. Check it out at www.foothillslutheran.com It's still a work in progress but I'm pretty happy with it so far.

I was out last night taking shots of my father in law Henry Goerzen driving a Massey F 860 combine. He's 80 years old and still going strong. The crop looks pretty good so far and God willing my brother's in law and father in law will get it all off before any weather comes along to destroy it.

That's all for now soup fans.

Well it's off to Coos Bay Oregon tomorrow.

Taking Mr. Happy, my 1971 VW hippy van. Hopefully it will get us all the way there and all the way back. It's always an adventure driving a VW. Last year I was going to take it to Utah and AZ but the carb. fell apart just before I went. Got towed home twice. Oh well I guess he just didn't really want to go LOL. If I get a chance I will add photos to this blog of the adventure and if I can figure it out maybe some video as well.
